Free encryption check: your file never leaves your device
The PDF Encryption Analyzer on this site (the tool that classifies your PDF's revision and key length before you decide anything) reads your file entirely within your browser using the JavaScript File API. Nothing is uploaded at this stage — no file contents, passwords, or metadata are transmitted or stored anywhere.
Starting a recovery: your file is uploaded
This is different. Once you submit your PDF for a free eligibility check or a paid recovery, the file itself is uploaded to our secure processing infrastructure so it can actually be attacked — this step does leave your device. Uploaded files are encrypted at rest, used solely to attempt recovery of your own file, automatically deleted within 24 hours, and never shared with third parties or used to build a password database.
Information We Collect
The free encryption analyzer collects nothing — it never talks to a server. If you go on to start a recovery, we collect the email address you provide (to send status and payment links) and the uploaded file, handled as described above. Like all websites, our server also receives standard HTTP request logs (IP address, browser type, page visited, timestamp), used only for security and performance monitoring and never sold or shared.
Payment Processing
Paid recovery releases are billed through third-party payment processors — WayForPay for card payments, PayPal, and select cryptocurrency payment providers. Your card, PayPal, or wallet details are entered directly with and handled by those processors; we do not receive or store your payment credentials. See our Refund Policy for refund terms.
Cookies & Analytics
This site may use analytics and operational cookies to understand traffic patterns, device types, and performance. This data is used to improve the service and monitor reliability.
Third-Party Links
This site may contain links to third-party services. When you visit those sites, their own privacy policies apply. We are not responsible for their data practices.
Data Retention
The free encryption analyzer retains nothing, since no file is ever uploaded for that step. Files submitted for a recovery are automatically deleted within 24 hours of processing. Server access logs are automatically rotated and deleted after 30 days.
GDPR / CCPA
The free analyzer processes no personal data at all. If you start a recovery, we process the minimum personal data needed to deliver it — your email address and the uploaded file — for the retention period described above. Contact us via the information below to exercise any GDPR/CCPA data subject rights, including access or deletion requests.
