Convert PDF to Word (.docx) Free
Drop a PDF and get an editable .docx file after processing. Text, tables, and layout are preserved where the source allows.
How it works
We use pdf2docx to parse the PDF layout and recreate it as a Word document. Works best on text-based PDFs (not scans).
What converts well
Text-based reports, contracts, and forms usually produce the most editable output. Paragraphs and simple tables transfer more reliably than decorative columns, embedded fonts, charts, or PDFs with complex positioning.
The converter creates a new document; it does not recover an unknown open password. If the PDF will not open, use the forgotten-password guide first. If the PDF opens but only blocks editing or copying, the known-password workflow is the appropriate path.
When to use something else
If your PDF is a scanned image, the output will contain images rather than editable text. For scans, use OCR software such as Adobe Acrobat Export PDF, ABBYY FineReader, or an on-device OCR workflow. Always check the converted document against the original before using it as a legal, financial, or archival record.
